Dethatching

Thatch is a layer of undecayed grass between the soil and the turfgrass. A thin layer is natural and protects the grass roots and increase the lawn resilience. Once exceeds half an inch will start preventing air, nutrients and water from reaching the roots.

Thatch buildup creates favourable conditions for insect pests and diseases to breed and thrive and makes both lawn pest and disease control treatments ineffective.

The major cause of thatch is rapid and excessive grass growth, combined with irregular mowing practices. Weekly mowing during the active warm-season grass growth will slow down thatch buidup.

Spring is the best time for a dethatch.

We use power dethatching rake to remove the thatch and let your lawn breathe and thrive.
